Nearby Weymouth is a busy summer holiday resort catering for all types of visitors. Further on can be found the Isle of Portland famous for its stone (once used to build St Paul's Cathedral among many of the other famous buildings throughout the country). The towns Chesil Beach runs from Portland 18 miles west along the coast towards Bridport.
